Plant Specification Type of plant The power plant has been designed for base load application, intended for parallel operation with public supply system. The power generation part consists of a gen-set using a Wartsila VASA 12V46 diesel engine as a prime mover driving the generator generating the electrical power. The operation of the diesel generating set is carried out from the control room. The operation method is manual with automatic synchronizing, based on the operator’s push-button order. Auxiliary equipment are controlled from panels mounted close to the equipment. The equipment includes control equipment, meters and sensors ended for the operator to monitor the equipment and processes, to give alarm in case of abnormal conditions; to stop the diesel power plant operation in case of hazardous conditions occurs. The diesel power plant is designed for heavy fuel oil operation.

Main technical data for 3x10500kW/10500V HFO generator The gen-set consists of a Wartsila VASA 12V46 diesel engine and an ABB HSG1600K12 self-cooled three phase A.C. generator. The engine is mounted on rubber elements on a fixing rail bolted to the foundation, thus achieving a good vibration reduction. The flexible coupling ensures that the generator and the engine do not affect each other due to small deviations in alignment, temperature movements or dynamic free forces. All external piping systems are connected to the engine via flexible connections listed in the respective auxiliary systems. Main data for diesel engine The gen-set is using a Wartsila VASA 12V46B diesel engine as a prime mover to drive the generator. The Wartsila Vasa 12V46B is a four stroke, direct injected, turbocharged and intercooled design. Output 13137kVA Power factor 0.8 Voltage 10500V Current 722A Frequency 50HZ Speed 500rpm Efficiency at 0.8p.f., 100% load 96.8% Insulation class/temp. rise F/F Protection IP21 Standard EC34 Bearings and shaft The generator is horizontally mounted and provided with two sleeve bearings. Cooling The generator is self cooled. A fan mounted on the generator shaft takes the cooling air from the ambient and blows it through the generator. Terminals The six stator winding ends are brought to the terminal boxes on the generator sides. Damper winding The generator is provided with a damper winding for operation with each other and separate grid. Brushless excitation system An exciter mounted on the generator supplies the excitation power for the brushless main machine through a diode bridge. The control power for the exciter is supplied through an automatic voltage regulator.
