Inquiry:
We intend to extend our Power Station by the addition of four new 15 MW diesel engine generating units. This will involve the removal of two of the existing diesel generating units which have now reached the end of their useful life and no longer comply with the applicable environmental standards, and the demolition of the associated powerhouse building. The new engines will operate on heavy fuel oil, with the capability of changing to LNG fuel if this becomes available in the future, and will include the necessary engine cooling systems, fuel oil storage and treatment systems, control systems and exhaust gas stacks.
The project will also include the construction of a new indoor 66 kV substation which will eventually replace the existing aging outdoor substation and will facilitate the upgrading of the main power distribution system to 132 kV.
