Description
Wherever operating environments are particularly tough, the heavy duty gas turbine SGT-600 is the turbine of choice. The compact turbine is rated in the 25 MW class, with 34.2 % open-cycle efficiency. Designed as a compact, twin-shaft unit, the SGT-600 is suitable for electrical and mechanical drive applications. The unit offers long life, easy on-site maintenance and a wide fuel range capability - from liquid fuel to natural gas. Its compactness makes it suitable for offshore installations as well as for retrofitting in existing installations.

The SGT-600 is a twin shaft machine with ten compressor stages. The first two stages have variable guide vanes. To avoid surging in the compressor during start and at low load, the unit is equipped with two bleed valves. The combustion chamber is of annular type and includes 18 burners. The inner surface of the combustor has a thermal barrier coating, that reduces the level of heat transfer and extends the lifetime. The SGT-600 is available with a conventional or Dry Low Emissions (DLE) combustion system. Both systems provide dual fuel capability, the DLE system also achieves low NOX levels.
