IN-738 Cutter Teeth Stage 3 Bucket for Frames 6A and 6B
Part# 314B7164G023 Designed for frame 6A through 6B turbines, the IN-738 stage 3 bucket incorporates design enhancements that allow operation at firing temperatures up to 2084°F. Constructed from IN-738 super alloy, rather than the previous U-500 material, the redesigned bucket maintains its design life expectancy of 72,000 hours at higher firing temperatures. Features IN-738 Material IN-738 is one of a very small class of modern super alloys that offers an outstanding combination of elevated temperature strength and hot corrosion resistance. This super alloy was the first cast bucket material used by GE in our heavy-duty gas turbine. Cutter Teeth The new stage 3 bucket design includes “cutter teeth�?on the bucket tip shroud rails. The design cuts a slot in the honeycomb seal material on the stage 3 shroud block with no metal transfer to the bucket. This allows new shroud blocks with honeycomb seals to be installed.
