The 718th research institute of CSIC (PERIC) which belongs to China Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Corporation was founded in 1966.  It locates in Handan, Hebei Province, China. It is a state-level R&D institute which is mainly engaged in R&D design and manufacture, technical service, etc. There are more than 2,000 employees including 870 professionals. In the professionals, there are 30 people enjoy special government subsidies. There are 84 researchers,  senior engineers 390, 35 Master Tutors，and there are 420 people with doctorate or master's degree.
      Since founded, we provide users with more than 500 kinds of advanced and reliable equipment and products. We have established the China Shipbuilding Industry chemical testing center, China Shipbuilding Industry Chemical Metrology Calibration Station，Post-Doctoral Research Center, Master postgraduate training base for design and manufacturing of ships and marine structures, applied chemistry, environmental engineering. We have a high-energy chemical engineering laboratory, Water electrolysis hydrogen production laboratory, Gas purification laboratory, and Analysis and testing laboratory. We have more than 580 sets of gas chromatography / mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography / mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, atomic emission spectroscopy, atomic absorption spectrometer, and other large-scale scientific test equipment.
      We hold an environmental impact assessment certificate issued by the State Environmental Protection Department, and the design / Manufacture License for the civil nuclear safety electrical equipment issued by the National Nuclear Safety Administration. We have the qualification of pressure vessel design and manufacture，and we passed the quality, environment, occupation health and safety management system certification. PERIC is the National Torch Plan Projects Handan new material industry base, the State Science and Technology Innovation Base of New Materials. PERIC is the backbone of the national new industrialization demonstration base in the military and civilian industry.
      PERIC continuously strengthen technological innovation, to develop high-tech industries. Since establishment, PERIC has been awarded with the National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology more than 260 times, including the national science and technology progress award 2 times, authorized patents nearly 300.According to the requirements of the development of civil military integration, PERIC vigorously develop high-tech industries. PERIC has formed eight major industries, including electronic special gas materials, fine chemical industry, air purification and application of hydrogen energy, nuclear power equipment, energy saving and environmental protection, security and instruments and special equipment.
