Centering idlers (self-aligning roller) have four types: vertical type, frictional type, conical type and self-aligning type (see figure 13, 14 and 15).  Centering idlers are used for avoid belt deviation.

The structure of aligning roller group is reasonable, low resistance, work reliability and sensitive reaction, with the help of side thrust generated by belt deviation can automatically repeated correction.

2. Structure and characteristics

High performance self-aligning roller group mainly include: roller bracket, beams, connecting rod, roller, vertical roll, etc.

Using vertical roll drive crank arm, crank arm push rod, rod push adjusting frame. According to the deviation situation and using tangential force of roller, to control rotation angle of adjusting frame. It can achieve continuous adjustment, low- resistance, and high torque.

The ceramic idler is a combined member consisting of ceramic body, bearing, axle, and plastic labyrinth seal ring, and is a new-generation idler through high-temperature calcination, which replaces steel and plastic with ceramic.

 Advantages of ceramic idler

1. Corrosion resistance: Corrosion resistant to acid, alkali and salt.

2. Strong rigidity: strong wear resistance

3. Full sealing: The two ends are installed with the plastic labyrinth seal rings, so the grease can’t be leaked, and the roll axis runs under the fully-sealed condition for a long time.

4. The ceramic surface can form oxidation film, so it can’t be adhered to any substances, and can’t react with any substances. Its trough idler can clean the belt. On the slope, the belt has big conveying force, small resistance and optimal effect. The two-section idler can reduce the heavy pressure points of the belt on the idler. The hollow device of idler can make the adherent on the belt fall off, which can prolong the service life of idler greatly.

5. Its service life is 2-3 times that of steel idler. Moreover, it can reduce the wear of belt, and the belt can’t run deviated, which can prolong the service life of idler greatly.
