Dongfang Electric Machinery Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as DFEM) is one of the major researchers & manufacturers of power generating equipment in the People's Republic of China, it was re-registered on January 30, 2008 after restructuring from the original stock-listed company registered in 1993 from the former Dongfang Electrical Machinery Works founded in 1958.

    DFEM mainly engages in design, production and sales of various complete sets of hydro units, coal-fired and nuclear generators, complete sets of wind turbine units, large and medium sized AC & DC motors, special motors as well as relative automation, speed governor, excitation system and auxiliaries, with the annual output capability of 32,000MW. Up to the end of 2010, it has produced over 256452MW of power generating equipment in total.
