Better use of biomass resources for renewable energy to the world.
Biomass is a renewable energy resource derived from the carbonaceous waste of various human and natural activities, including wood chips, paper mill waste, wheat straw, saw dust, bark, forest residue chips and rice shell etc. It is derived from numerous sources, including the by-products from the timber industry, agricultural crops, raw material from the forest and wood. Biomass does not add carbon dioxide to the atmosphere as it absorbs the same amount of carbon in growing as it releases when consumed as a fuel. Its advantage is that it can be used to generate electricity with the same equipment.
Traditional use of biomass is more than its use in modern application. In the developed world biomass is again becoming important for applications such as combined heat and power generation. Cogeneration is an energy management solution for today.
Cogeneration, also known as Combined Heat and Power (CHP), is the on-site production of two kinds of energy usually electricity and heat - from a single source of fuel. Cogeneration can replace the traditional method of supplying energy from multiple sources, e.g., purchasing electricity from the power grid and burning natural gas or oil separately in a furnace to produce heat or steam. These methods can waste up to two–thirds of the energy in the original fuel -- losses that are made up for in high utility rates.
A cogeneration system normally consists of a SD gas engine turning an alternator to produce electricity, and a waste heat recovery system to capture heat from the exhaust and cooling water jacket. Nearly 80% of the energy in the original fuel is put to productive use in a typical CHP system.
Electricity, steam, hot water
About SD Gas inner combustion engine World's first inner combustion engine is an engine fueled by coal gas, German merchant and engineer Nikolaus August Otto invented that four stroke inner combustion engine in 1876. After about 10 years' continuous improvement, another German engineer Gottlieb Daimler who is well known as a pioneer of modern auto industry successfully developed the inner combustion engine fueled by gasoline. The first diesel engine was invented later by Rudolf Diesel in 1890s.
SD Gas engine works under the same principle of diesel and gasoline engines and it needs spark plug to ignite. Working temperature of core part in its cylinder can reach 1400�? which makes its efficiency much higher than that of steam turbine, even gas turbine. Generally gas inner combustion engine’s efficiency is between 30% and 40%.
The prominent feature of SD gas generator units' advantages is its high efficiency, then it is a highly integrated system, easier to install; it doesn' t have very strict requirement to gas condition (dust, moisture, etc.); it doesn' t consume large quantities of water, and its building cost of equipment for 1 kWh power is lower.
SD generators have high performance control system and high quality monitor instruments with the functions of low-voltage, over-current and revere power protections etc. Meanwhile, the control panel can monitor speed, water temperature, lub-oil temperature, lub-oil pressure and exhaust temperature parameters of the engine. It is also equipped with sound and light alarm devices for main parameters and automatic shutdown device.

Advantages of using SD Gas Engine to build power plant. - Applicable to all kinds of flammable gases - It can be adapted to the low-pressure gas source and increase the effective electricity power output. - It is of high power-generating efficiency, low electricity power consumption. Once the thermo-electric cogeneration is realized, the thermal efficiency can up to 80%. - The unit is a highly integrated system and little assistant equipment is needed; it is easy to build up the station and little investment is needed. - The building period of the station is short. Usually, the building period of a 3000kW station won' t be over 2 months. It is a solution of low running cost and quick capital recovery. - The operation of the units is very flexible. It can be used singly or parallel connection with other units. It can be used by the way of equipment-connection and grid-connection. Users can adjust the quantity of the running units at any moment to make better use of the equipments and lower the operating cost. - A little time is needed from starting the unit to generating power by the way of grid-connection, the whole process can be finished in a short time. It can generate power by itself or by the way of grid-connection. The operation is so simple that even common workers can master it proficiently after a short-term training. - The unit is of strong maintainability. Low malfunction rate. All the problems occurred can be solved by the maintenance staff on the spot. - The gas-distributing system of the unit applies the camshafts and other gas-distributing outfits which are especially designed for gas engine. It is of unique gas-distributing phrase, gas-distributing included angle and advance angle of ignition which can make the engine achieve a better burning effect. - It is of reliable quality, little mechanical load and low rotate speed - The main control parts such as the speed governor, ignition system and spark plug are reliable American products; The power generator unit are of complete safeguarding system, mature technology, about 20 years' production history, enough spare part and timely supporting.
