Design Hebei Research Institute of Investigation and Design of Water Conservancy and Hydropower is founded in 1956 located in Tianjin. In 1997 the institute was entitled the name as Hebei Research Institute of Investigation and Design of Water Conservancy and Hydropower under Ministry of Water Resources.
The institute is a class A state investigation and design institute holding class A certificates of reconnaissance, design, project package contract and bidding deputy issued by Ministry of Construction, the certificate of project consultation issued by National Development and Reform Commission, the certificate of hydrology, water resources investigation and assessment, construction project water resources justification, construction project compiling of water and soil conservation, project construction supervision by Ministry of Water Resources, the certificate of mapping by State Bureau of Surveying and Cartography, the certificate of foreign economical and technical cooperation, approval for enterprises with foreign trade rights by Ministry of Commerce. In May 1999 the institute acquired quality management system certificate of ISO9001.
At present there are more than 1300 employees in the institute, including more than 400 professorial and senior engineers in different subjects with advanced technical skills and rich working experience. In recent years 19 companies and branches have been registered to improve the integrated strength of the institute,
For 50 years we have been carrying out national water regulation policy to achieve excellent success. We have successfully completed river basin planning of Haihe River and Luanhe River; improvement of large and main rivers, investigation and design for construction, extension and reinforcement of 28 large reservoirs, Luanhe River to Tangshan Diversion Project, Qinglonghe River to Qin Huangdao Division Project, Zhuzhuang reservoir to Xingtai Diversion Project and Yellow river to Hebei province Water Transfer Project, Hydropower stations include Nanguan Hydropower Station, Daheiding Hydropower Station, Luzhuangzi and Taolinkou Hydropower Station and planning , investigation, design and construction supervision of a quantity of small and medium sized hydraulic and hydropower projects, architecture projects, public works and transportation projects. 195 projects of investigation, design and scientific research were awarded by State, Province, Ministry and Bureau, of which 30 projects reached the leading and advanced level in the world as well as the leading level in China.
In recent years we get great achievement in South-North Water Transfer Project. The planning, investigation and design of Beijing to Shijiazhuang Section in South-North Water Transfer Project is generally completed and the started projects are going on very well.
We carries out the policy of “Support by South-North Water Transfer Project, Focus on Provincial Projects and Two wings by Branch Enterprises for Multipurpose Business”and follows quality policy of ‘Science and Technology guidance, Standard Management, Quality Priority and Customer Satisfaction�? Business scope is further extended and market competence is being strengthened.
We adjusted management policy in time to exploit overseas market confronting the deepening reform and opening to the outside world as well as the ungovernable market competition. We successively undertook the investigation and design of Medjerdah-Cap-Bon Canal, the construction supervision of Lebua Reservoir and preliminary design of Sfisifa Reservoir in Tunisia , the design of Sudan agriculture pumping station and he investigation and design of Banaong pumping and irrigation project in Philippines.
We sincerely hope to provide better service for clients and society and to strengthen communication and cooperation with friends from home and abroad for a bright future.
