1. Manufacturing of blanks
1.1 Casting
The casting workshop, which possesses 11,000 square meter lands, is equipped with a 5-T electric-are furnace, a 3-T electric-are furnace and two 3-T cupola furnaces as well as other relevant molding and heat treatment furnace.
The casting workshop has smelted many steel-casting pieces, for example runner buckets, runner blades and guide vanes, etc. which are made of carbon steel, ZG20SiMn steel, ZG15MnMoVCu steel and ZG00Cr13Ni4Mo stainless steel, etc., all kinds of iron-casting pieces as well as nonferrous metal including copper and aluminum.
The casting workshop has 2 senior Engineers, 5 senior technicians, 10 engineers, 15 assistant Engineers and 4 technicians who specialize in casting.
1.2 Welding
For welding auxiliary equipment, the fabricating workshop is equipped with 400-T four-posts oil press, 800-T Single-arm oil press, 19-meters rolling machine, automatic cutter, plasma cutter, 9-meters edge planer, 25-T modified machine, 45×3000 four-rolls bending machine and plate sheers, etc.
For welding equipment, the fabricating workshop is equipped with 9 stands of automatic welding machine, 5 stands of gas-shielded welding machine and 70 stands of AC/DC arc welding machine.
For punching equipment, the fabricating workshop is equipped with 315-T, 400-T and 630-T punching machines.
The fabricating workshop has 3 senor Engineers, 4 senior technicians, 9 engineers, 10 assistant Engineers and 2 technicians who specializes in welding.
2. Machine manufacturing
2.1 Lifting equipment
CWTW is equipped with the following main lifting equipment: 30-T, 50-T and 75-T bridge type crane and 20-T gantry crane.
2.2 Manufacturing equipment
CWTW is equipped with the following main/large manufacturing equipment: Φ15m,Φ10 m, Φ8 m, Φ6.3 m and Φ5 m vertical lath, Φ1600×12000 mm and Φ1250×8000 mm horizontal lathe, Φ160 mm, Φ220 mm andΦ250 mm floor type borer, Φ2500 mm face lathe, planer-type miller, special borer for guide vane chamber, special borer for head cover and bottom ring and special boring miller, etc.
CWTW has 18 senior Engineers, 24 senior technicians, 20 engineers, 10 assistant Engineers and 28 technicians who specialize in manufacturing.
3. Means of measuring and testing
3.1 Turbine test
3.1.1 Turbine design group
Task of turbine design group:
1) Research, design and test high-efficiency new model runner under every water head and discharge.
2) Research the best flow passage and condition of cavitations.
3) Research the structure of Bulb tubular type water turbine-generator unit and the structure of high-water head and multi-jet Pelton water turbine.
4) Intensity determination and stress measurement of rotating part of water turbine.
5) Join and direct the test of every test stand in laboratory and analyze the data from the test, then give out modifying and improving opinions so as to get the best data.
This group has 4 senior Engineers, 5 engineers, 6 assistant Engineers.
3.1.2 General group
Task of general group:
1) Undertake the technological improvement of CWTW’s all equipment and adopt the digital-display and microprocessor control to increase the machining precision and efficiency of machine tool.
2) Develop new products.
3) Micro-processor automatic measuring/testing, automatic printing and automatic drawing of every parameter for model turbine unit.
This group has 3 senior Engineers, 5 engineers, 28 assistant Engineers and 10 technicians.
3.1.3 Electric group
This group has 7 electricians. Their task is to maintain/ repair every kinds of test equipment in the model laboratory and undertake the trial manufacturing, assembly and adjustment/test of new product as well as maintenance/repair of key electrical equipments in the factory.
3.1.4 Model test group
This group has 12 test workers. Their task is to Install and adjust/test the model unit with electric Engineers and Mechanical Engineers together and carry out the performance test, cavitations test, hydraulic characteristic test and stress test, etc.
3.1.5 Model laboratory
There is large performance test stand, Pelton performance test stand and cavitations test stand as well as their matching auxiliary equipments, including electric panel/cabinet, water pump, computer and digital-display equipment, etc.
Large performance test stand:
It mainly undertakes the hydraulic characteristic test of Francis type, Kaplan type, Bulb tubular type and S tubular type model turbine. Its measuring/testing range is as follows:
Water head: 4.5 m
Discharge: 1.0 m3/s
Diameter: 0.35 m
Pelton performance test stand:
It mainly undertakes the hydraulic characteristic test of single-jet, double-jets, four-jets and five-jets high-water head Pelton type model water turbine. Its measuring/testing range is as follows:
Water head: 80 m
Discharge: 0.112 m3/s
Diameter: 0.4 m
Cavitations test stand:
It mainly is used to measure/test the cavitations performance of reaction water turbine. Its basic parameter is as follows:
Water head: 10 m
Discharge: 0.2 m3/s
Diameter: 0.25 m
3.2 Generator test
3.1.1 Insulation material laboratory
Its main task is to research insulating structure of generator coil, insulation performance of electric equipment, technological parameter and match of all kinds of insulation material so as to carry out selecting material and carry out the technological parameter test of coils before producing.
This laboratory is equipped with electrical insulation test equipments and inspecting/measuring instrument/meter.
This laboratory has 3 senior Engineers, 5 Engineers, 6 assistant Engineers and 7 insulation test workers who specialize in insulation.
3.1.2 Generator test station
The over 5,000 KW capacity horizontal-shaft hydraulic generator shall be carried out the type(approval) test, runaway test of whole generator as well as dielectric strength test, dielectric loss test and corona-proof performance test of coils and stator/rotor of every kind of generator.
This test station is equipped with AC and DC driven motor unit used for test and all kinds of inspecting/measuring and testing equipment and instruments/meters used for 3.15 KV to 15.7 KV voltage class coils and generator as well as testing equipment and measuring instruments/meters used for dielectric strength test and dielectric loss test.
This laboratory has 2 senior Engineers, 4 Engineers, 7 assistant Engineers and 8 insulation test workers and 7 generator test workers.
3.1.3 Product pressure test station
This test station is equipped with 19613 KPa water pressure test equipment and oil-pressure test equipment as well as their inspecting/measuring device.
